Adding it to the Wish List...

Not going to lie, I actually do want one of these POP phone receivers. They plug right into your cell, so those lengthy phone dates with girlfriends will feel retro chic and fun (not to mention more comfortable) again. I've seen the colorful assortment of regular POP phones, but recently discovered there's far more fabulous version out from Swarovski Elements. Equipped with a high quality speaker and microphone, pick up / hang up button, compatible with iPhone and iPad and adorned with 2,175 SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS, this suddenly went to the top of my wish list! Too bad it's retailing at $840...yes, really.

Available in black or purple.

WishTree

I've accumulated quite a few fabulous pieces of jewelry over the years--so isn't it fitting that I have something equally fabulous to display (and organize) them on? I'm considering an upgrade from my current jewelry stand (from..college...) to this stately golden tree from Anthropologie.

Or better yet, I'll just add it to my wish list.
$98 here.

On My Wish List....

How fab is this glitzy laptop case from Deux Lux?? Given that my (pink) laptop is already bedazzled (really!), this is clearly the perfect case for it.
Christmas? Birthday? They're both coming up, darlings. ;)

Mother's Day Trinkets

With Mother's Day this weekend, I've been bombarded by a few too many inquiries as to what a good gift might be. I did a fabulous gift guide for typeF here with some ideas, but also wanted to post a few more here, focused on just jewelry.

Obsessed!

A self-professed girly girl, I never met a bouquet of flowers I didn't like; but the saddening part is when I have to throw them out after a few short days. I just discovered this company called Heinau Flowers that might have changed the floral industry as we know it. That's right, these beautiful blooms aren’t your ordinary flower arrangements:

Gorgeous, natural and fresh-cut, Heinau Flowers last up to an entire year thanks to a unique preservation process that is safe, hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly. Available in a wide assortment of variations and designs, these stunning flowers are also affordable for any budget.

Pretty much perfect, right? Buy one for yourself, and your mom, too!

Marimekko Madness

Want to spruce up your home this spring? Or looking for a fabulous Mother's Day gift that's far from ordinary? Crate and Barrel is rolling out Marimekko items in a few of their select stores, and the entire collection is online. I've always been a fan of the Finnish line for its poppy patterns and cheerful colors.

Sneak Peek: Swag & Style!

Before the stars took to the red carpet last night for the Golden Globes, several stars and industry VIPs (ah-hem, myself included!) merrily gallivanted about town at the various posh gifting suites and beauty lounges held in their honor. I ran into many of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (my guilty pleasure! it's so good) and a few others like Milla Jovovich, Abigail Spencer, Jane Lynch, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Izabella Miko and more.

Over the busy weekend, I attended the Access Hollywood "Stuff you Must..." Lounge, the InStyle Beauty Lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel and the Nivea for Men Hospitality Suite at Pascal Mouawad's mansion.

While I was busy documenting the mass amounts of swag (Pretty Ballerinas, New Balance, Netflix, Pandora Jewels, Wonka chocolates, Little Giraffe, Slim Fast, Vintage Revolution denim, Lipsy and plenty more) being distributed to stars galore; I also made time for a little pampering too!
I had my hair styled by the brilliant Mika Fowler of Gavert Atelier salon with Joico products, my brows were shaped by Damone Roberts of Beverly Hills and makeup pro Heather Currie (she does Ellen's makeup for the TV show daily) beautified me with an arsenal of brand new Maybelline New York products.

Life's tough, right? All in a day's work, lovelies! ;)

Heavenly Scents.

I'm a firm believer in never having too many candles, but trust me when I say not all candles were created equally. I've burned through my share of both high-end and affordable candles alike, but I think I've finally happened upon my new all-time favorite and wanted to spread the word (it is gift-giving season, after all.)

LAFCO New York's AVENUE Collection features gorgeous soy candles named after the most famous streets in the world, featuring incredible scents characteristic of each city.

While I was initially drawn to the Ginza 'Cherry Blossom and Peony' candle (my favorite flowers ever!), I quickly became entirely obsessed with the Regent Street candle and opted for that one instead. With notes of bergamot citrus, black tea leaves, honey and neroli--it's seriously heavenly!

Hair Done, Nails Done, Everything Did.

Hard to believe that awards season is already here again! Emmys came and went, which means a flurry of L.A. folks got primped and pampered for the red carpet, and likewise, many media folk (yours truly!) sampled some of the lavish services offered to the stars. This year, I stopped in at the posh Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills for a fabulous afternoon during Emmys weekend.

I lucked out with a hair cut appointment with the uber-masterful Damos, who sliced into my long, lifeless locks and added layers at the crown of my head for some much-needed volume and height. A voluminous blowout completed my look (sorry no pics!) and I felt like a brand new gal. I also scored a bright fuschia manicure while the celebs poured in. Stephanie Pratt, Rashida Jones, Hilary Duff, Sam Ronson, Giuliana Rancic and Jordana Brewster were buzzing around the salon and snagging freebies in the courtyard where a few cool companies like Koolaburra, Charlotte Ronson, Calvin Klein fragrances and Redken set up booths to pass out their latest wares.

Teen Choice Awards SWAG!

I headed over to the Magic Castle in Hollywood today to check out the Teen Choice Awards gifting retreat. Just for fun, I decided to shoot a little video for your viewing pleasure (please excuse the awful lighting--it was super dark inside, and I literally just taught myself how to edit a video for the first time tonight!) to show you all what a gifting lounge is actually like.

I actually attend several of these sort of events throughout the year, and this one was a bit more disappointing than others I've been to (truth be told.)

Nonetheless, swag is swag! And today's event drew stars like Candace Cameron, Beverly Mitchell, Kellie Martin, Mayim Bialak, BooBoo Stewart, Cassie Scerbo and more.

Watch for them in my video below!

Oh, and want to know what kind of swag I scored?

I dish on all of the freebies here:

I stumbled upon this cute gag gift and thought it was timely to post, what with February 14th fast approaching and all. Wondering what to give to all your single gal pals to crack a smile?

Most Amazing Candle Ever.

I've had a small Voluspa Goji & Tarocco Orange candle sitting on my dresser for a few weeks, and I can't tell you how many people have recently come over, casually taken a whiff and gone completely ballistic about its amazing scent.

Can't blame them--I'm totally obsessed myself.

A Fabulous Gift!

What did you get for Christmas this year? One of my favorite gifts was from my brother and sister-in-law: a Swarovski crystal-encrusted business card holder!

Totally gorgeous and professional (well, for my purposes, anyway)--they know me too well.

Dear Fabulous File...

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to get her a piece of jewelry that she'll actually wear. I'm on kind of a tight budget and I'm totally clueless when it comes to this stuff. Can you help me out?

-Matt

Dear Matt,

Aw, what a lucky girl! It would be my pleasure to steer you in the right direction. When it comes to jewelry shopping, it's a wise idea to pay attention to the current style of jewelry she currently wears. Does she play it safe with simple stud earrings and nothing else, or does she have an affinity for chunky bold jewels that make a big statement?

No matter her taste, I think every girl needs a stunning simple gold bracelet to add to her collection. Gold bracelets are easily interchangeable with virtually any outfit, and can stand on its own, or be layered with other bangles, too.

Costume jewelry is easily affordable, and, there are so many options to pick from--organic, chunky, sparkly, classic--there's bound to be one that's perfect for her.

Crystal Bracelet $34 at Banana Republic

Last but not least, another one of my favorite gift ideas are these adorable personalized skinny cuff bracelets that you can customize with your names, favorite sayings, important dates, inside jokes. etc.

'Say Anything' Skinny Cuff by Amy Volchok $75 at Giving Tree Jewelry

It's the fail-proof gift that she'll always remember you by and will cherish for years to come!
