Dear Fabulous File...

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I want to get her a piece of jewelry that she'll actually wear. I'm on kind of a tight budget and I'm totally clueless when it comes to this stuff. Can you help me out?

-Matt

Dear Matt,

Aw, what a lucky girl! It would be my pleasure to steer you in the right direction. When it comes to jewelry shopping, it's a wise idea to pay attention to the current style of jewelry she currently wears. Does she play it safe with simple stud earrings and nothing else, or does she have an affinity for chunky bold jewels that make a big statement?

No matter her taste, I think every girl needs a stunning simple gold bracelet to add to her collection. Gold bracelets are easily interchangeable with virtually any outfit, and can stand on its own, or be layered with other bangles, too.

Costume jewelry is easily affordable, and, there are so many options to pick from--organic, chunky, sparkly, classic--there's bound to be one that's perfect for her.

Last but not least, another one of my favorite gift ideas are these adorable personalized skinny cuff bracelets that you can customize with your names, favorite sayings, important dates, inside jokes. etc.

It's the fail-proof gift that she'll always remember you by and will cherish for years to come!
