Hair Done, Nails Done, Everything Did.

Hard to believe that awards season is already here again! Emmys came and went, which means a flurry of L.A. folks got primped and pampered for the red carpet, and likewise, many media folk (yours truly!) sampled some of the lavish services offered to the stars. This year, I stopped in at the posh Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills for a fabulous afternoon during Emmys weekend.

I lucked out with a hair cut appointment with the uber-masterful Damos, who sliced into my long, lifeless locks and added layers at the crown of my head for some much-needed volume and height. A voluminous blowout completed my look (sorry no pics!) and I felt like a brand new gal. I also scored a bright fuschia manicure while the celebs poured in. Stephanie Pratt, Rashida Jones, Hilary Duff, Sam Ronson, Giuliana Rancic and Jordana Brewster were buzzing around the salon and snagging freebies in the courtyard where a few cool companies like Koolaburra, Charlotte Ronson, Calvin Klein fragrances and Redken set up booths to pass out their latest wares.

Check out a few of my candid event pics:

It's That Time of Year Again...

It's Emmy weekend in LA which means plenty of fabulous gifting suites galore for celebs and VIPs. I only made it out to one or two this year, but always love to kick back and take in the festivities (oh, and the swag sorta sweetens the whole experience, of course!)

I've posted pics from yesterday's suite at the SkyBar at the Mondrian Hotel to share the fun. Vendors including Joe's Jeans, Fake Bake, Warren-Tricomi Salon, Kid Dangerous, Shay Todd and more were in the house; while AnnaLynne McCord (and her two sisters), Melody Thornton (Pussycat Dolls) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) made the rounds while I was there.

Red Carpet Elegance

My few of my favorite red carpet moments...

Simply gorgeous!

I'll be honest, most of the time, I have a hard time naming even one dress I like (let alone love) at an awards show (it's been a drab last few rounds, wouldn't you say?), but this time, I actually approve of several of the gowns.

It pleases me that several of the leading ladies opted for feminine, artful dresses that were romantic and modern, yet still elegantly reminiscent of the 1960s!

Emmys Beauty Lounge

I stopped by another Emmys Lounge this weekend for a little glamorous rejuvenation and indulgent pampering. The beauty-themed lounge was held at the Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villas in Hollywood and offered plenty of pretty pick-me-ups for press and celebrities alike!

I had my hair done by FHI Heat and makeup by Napolean Perdis (whose line is now retailing at a Target near you!) Napolean has a larger than life personality and a genuine enthusiasm that I found infectious.

I attentively tuned in to plenty of product pitches (Sebastian, Bio Lustre, etc. and snagged some samples to try at home--reviews to come, of course!)

The Great Kate Escape

It's Emmys weekend here in LA, which means one thing to me: gifting suites galore!
My favorite one is Kate Somerville's White Room. If you ask me, Kate Somerville is the place to get a facial--the spa is absolutely decadent in decor and the treatments are life-changing.

Kate Somerville

During the White Room, guests (celebrities and select media) are treated to customized facials, top-notch blowouts and brow shaping by the Warren-Tricomi Salon (another one of my favorite beauty havens!), makeup application by Bare Essenctuals, plus gifting from La Perla, Clarisonic, Ajne Fragrance and more. M Cafe serves up delicious macrobiotic vegan bites that are out of this world (tofu scramble squares, brown rice sushi, salmon-wrapped asparagus spears and chocolate truffles!) Not a bad way to start off the weekend!

Two of my favorites: Stevi and Christine from the Warren-Tricomi Salon
(Christine does Lauren Conrad's hair for EVERY event, by the way. She's also the lead for her upcoming LA Fashion week show and dished to me about the hairstyles they're collaborating on!)

So who stopped by for some gifting goodies? Kate Walsh, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kerry Washington, Felicity Huffman, Debra Messing and Molly Sims, to name a few!
