I first saw this adorable silk romper on designer Tiffany Saidnia of Tt Collection at a beach party in Malibu last summer. It's called the Cameron and retails for $202 on www.ttcollection.com.




I probably wouldn't drop that kind of money on a romper that I'll probably be over in a few months, but when I found this rather convincing replica at Arden B. for a mere $48, I'm starting to readjust my thinking...

Look for Less: Eva Longoria

The Desperate Housewives star has been spotted toting around Gustto's convertible 'Rosa' handbag all about town.



It's easily two bags in one: a handheld tote, or flip the flap over and it's a sizable clutch. It retails for $520 at ShopRumor.com.

Michelle's Inaugural Look

The First Lady looked picturesque in a chartreuse lace wool sheath dress and coat by Isabel Toledo this morning. Her fashion choice was decidedly elegant and chic, but also largely hinted at a deliberate understated panache and boldness. The color choice, though tricky to pull of on most skin tones, was eye-catching and vibrant on her.

Look for Less: The Holiday Party Dress

You may remember when I posted about my PERFECT pink party dress by Temperley London a few weeks back:



Ever since, I've been looking for a similar variation (read: anything cheaper than the $1295 designer original) for New Years Eve/my Birthday (not sure which one yet!) and happened upon this holiday dress by none other, Bebe, (I know, I know. Who goes to Bebe anymore? But, hey! Sometimes these retailers like to surprise you, so I don't discriminate):

It's actually SUPER-cute on; and I'm definitely going to add a patent black belt to break up all of that pink; and make it a little bit tougher.

Not a bad substitute, right?

And, I accomplished my fashion mission well before the holiday madness sets in.

Q: In the trailer of the upcoming season of The Hills, Lauren Conrad is wearing a navy swing coat with an oversize bow on the back. I must have this coat! Any ideas where I can find something like it?

A: At first glance, I would say LC's darling coat looks like something crafted by a chic yet whimsical designer like Tara Jarmon or Erin Fetherston. Paris-based designer Erotokritos sent a series of girly-inspired pieces down the runway last season, with a huge emphasis on oversize bows, but I couldn't locate Lauren's navy version to be exact.

At just $54, it's a style steal (and much more seasonal this time of year than a heavy wool coat.)
