Celeb Style: Jennifer Hudson

Yesterday I covered fashion and beauty at the BET Awards for BET.com. It was blazing hot on the red carpet (I think I'm about three solid shades tanner now) and I was definitely hustling in heels to nab as many fabulous celeb quotes as I could amongst all the chaos.

As for my outfit, I channeled Jennifer Hudson in a neon pink mini skirt (thank you, Zara!) and a timeless black BCBG corset top that I got seven years ago from Neiman Marcus. Some things never get old. Black peep-toe wedges with ruffle detail from JustFab.com.

Check it out:

MTV Movie Awards Fashion

I love it when celebrities actually take risks on the red carpet, and it seems that the MTV Movie Awards is just the event to inspire stars to do so. A lot of gorgeous gals opted for sexy mini dresses, plenty of sparkle and standout accessories--many of them took a teensy walk on the wild side--and I'm giving them all two thumbs up.

See some of the highlights here:

Celebs Love Kelly Locke!

As clearly evidenced here, several stars are carrying Kelly Locke clutches on and off the red carpet. The “Mimi” clutch is a new silhouette for Kelly Locke’s Fall 2011 collection and has quickly become a celebrity favorite among the likes of Halle Berry, Emma Roberts, Sarah Hyland and Jennifer Love Hewitt.

The “Mimi” is available in various skins from mirrored calfskin ($450, as worn by Emma Roberts to the Vanity Fair Oscar Party) to anaconda (as worn by Halle Berry to the 2011 Academy Awards) to matte and glazed fishskin ($575, as worn by Erika Christensen and Jennifer Love Hewitt.)

Locke specializes in working with precious skins such as anaconda, lizard, crocodile and baby haircalf.

SAG Awards

What did you think of the red carpet fashion for the SAG Awards last night? Why was everyone (Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Morrison, Christina Applegate) wearing weirdly-draped billowing cuts? Ick.

Needless to say, I was a little dismayed with the pickings, and didn't really L-O-V-E anyone's look, but, if push came to shove, I will say that Kyra Sedgwick looked great in an effortlessly chic black and white ensemble, and Evan Rachel Wood looked modern and elegant in her one-shouldered teal Monique Lhuillier gown.

Aside from the fashion, the SAG Awards did, however, inspire me to want to see many, many movies now...anyone else?

Running Around like a Madwoman...

I have a flurry of updates (last night was the star-studded Lucy Awards!), but I'm literally running out the door right now to an event downtown, so I'll have to update later (Cartier gala tonight!)

Quick update, though: Last night as I was fiercely chasing after celebs on the red carpet, the heel of my beloved Delman satin pumps snapped and I was left to limp around as stylishly as possible for the rest of the night! Tragic, right?
I ran into Glamour's west coast editor who exclaimed, "That is such an Ugly Betty moment! Tell Salma!"

(Hayek was in the house as the recipient of an award, so Ugly Betty was on the brain.)

Hilarious.
