Boy Meets Girl.

My favorite part about fall? Wearing boots! I'm pretty picky when it comes to my boots, and wouldn't dream of settling on a style that didn't totally thrill me.
I spotted these adorable leather boots on Anthropologie for $238 and love the rugged styling juxtaposed with the cutesy subtle bow on the side. Tres chic for casual autumn look, no?

Fierce?

These foldover boots from Vera Wang caught my eye on IntermixOnline.com today, and had to do a quick post. It's no secret that I am a big fan of foldover boots, but it's also no secret that a good pair done right is hard to find.

So what do we think about these? Fiercely fashion-forward (and possibly comfortable thanks to that wedge heel?) or a little too elephant-leg-like?

You Want What You Can't Have...

I fell in love with these quirky-cute lace-up booties on the Free People site the other day, and was dismayed that they were completely and utterly sold out in my size (and well, every size but a 6.) They aren't anywhere else online, so I've developed a bit of a heart-wrenching crush on them at this point.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am more than just a little bit of a nude shoe addict, so these would fit right into my collection, but would stand out with a bit more attitude.

I was hunting and pecking around online and was surprised to find that a DIY guru actually took the exact same shoe and embellished it with studs for a bit of a rocker edge. Impressive handiwork. Alas, this one dynamo pair is a size 7.5, so that doesn't help me...even if I did like the added studs (which I'm not for certain that I do, FYI.)

Despite the fact that I cannot have either at this point, it still begs the question: which style is better? Sleek and simple? Or metal-embellished?

Discuss.

One, Two Step.

Rihanna may be struggling with some tragic personal issues right about now and has certainly seen sunnier days, but the always-stylish songbird braved the paparazzi and stepped out in these fiercely fashionable Maison Martin Margiela patent D'orsay knee boots.

Not a bad distraction.

Barneys New York sells them for a cool $1,245.

FYI...

I was traipsing along Melrose the other day and saw these cute hidden wedge boots by 8020 in a store window.

I own two pairs of spring boots in a similar style by the brand, and was surprised to find the boots marked up to $215 at this boutique. I even talked to the shop owner about the mark up (everyone's haggling these days, so I figured it couldn't hurt), and she smugly informed me that they were selling those boots just fine at that price. Uh-huh.

I did a little online research and found them at RevolveClothing.com on sale for $132 in black, and $76 in brown, respectively.

Annnd what.

The Wrap Boot: Yay or Nay?

Alright, I have an unhealthy obsession with boots, which means I spend considerable time perusing sites looking for interesting ones to potentially add to my already-massive collection. I'm looking for boots that bring a new dimension to my life, that are fierce and wearable and unexpected at the same time. Boots that can dress up skinny jeans and a T-shirt, or tone down a beaded party dress.

These Irregular Choice Wrap Boots ($225) caught my eye, but it's so hard to find the right wrap boot.

Let me explain.

If we were to do dig back into the celeb style archive [of my fashion-obsessed brain], you might remember that Kate Hudson put wrap boots on the map back a few years back when she wore these fabulous (read: wildly expensive) gray button-up versions by Thomas Wylde.

There have been a few variations on the wrap boot since, but few have actually measured up to look as perfectly luxe and casual as Ms. Hudson's.

For instance Tara Subkoff for Easy Spirit's Tall Covered Boots from 2006 didn't quite measure up:

Is it naive of me to think the Irregular Choice boots just might be the ticket?
Or should I just give up on the quest all together...

Boot-ylicious!

If pressed, I would admit that the one thing I do enjoy about the fall/winter season is that I get to wear boots.

I've always been a bit of boot fanatic (when I was little, I used to stomp around in sassy red cowboy boots as much as I could possibly get away with), and after living in New York City, I quickly realized that boots aren't only super stylish--but they keep you warm, too. (Having always lived in warm climate regions before, I never really considered such benefits of footwear, natch.)

Anyway, it's no surprise that I'm always on the hunt for super cool boots to add to my sizable collection, and today I happened upon two casual chic pairs (in natural and black) on mega sale at LF Stores. (BTW, LF Stores is having their once-a-year sale with the whole store marked down 60% off! Check their site, www.lfstores.com for locations.)

Winnie Wedge Boot by 80/20

So here's the deal: These boots are uniquely made of lightweight canvas (does a boot get any more casual than that?) and have a fantastic hidden wedge for just the right amount of lift. (read: you look model-y and leggy, and everyone will think you were naturally blessed with great genes, even if you weren't.)

Even better? They are uber comfortable (yay!!!!) and undoubtedly cute. They kinda look amazingly great with shorts (FYI, many LA girls are already transitioning into fall with this fashion pairing); but I imagine I'll be pulling them on with jeans, leggings and skirts come fall.

Okay, I guess summer can end if it wants to...

I'm Not Usually a Fringe Fan, But....

I could kinda see myself stomping around in these (paired with girly sun dresses) well into the fall.

I like how the boot itself has a subtly-pointed toe and the fringe is on the back (and not screaming for attention.)

Okay so maybe Montana is rubbing off on me, just a little.
