Beauty Junkie

As a beauty editor, I know that the #1 beauty concern among women these days is dark undereye circles; which just so happens to be my own personal beauty battle as well. Sigh.

Amongst my arsenal of concealers, eye creams and color correctors, I still come up short with products that really work. And while nothing is a surefire fix for this problematic beauty woe (thanks genetics!), I've been pleasantly surprised with a new product from Garnier.

The Anti-Dark Circle Roller is a solid addition to my eye care routine: it swipes on and instantly lightens and brightens the area in one quick step. I layer it under my concealer and over my eye cream for a quick pick-me-up that minimizes hyperpigmentation in a snap.

If your life involves late-night partying, frequent red-eye flights or everyday on-the-go primping, you might want to look into tossing Comodynes Urban Vision eye zone dual treatment + concealer in your makeup bag.

This compact little tube packs a potent smoothing eye treatment that reduces wrinkles and dark circles (really!), while the cap unscrews to reveal a great little concealer to brighten the undereye area in five seconds flat. How's that for a 2-in-1 deal?

In the market for a great eyebrow pencil? I've been pleasantly surprised with Kevyn Aucoin's eyebrow enhancer pencil from Sephora ($24.)

It delivers gentle yet effective color for the perfect amount of natural enhancement and subtle control. Highly recommended!

All About Eyes

I've always been a tad bit meticulous about my skin care regimen, and one thing I never skip is eye cream. It's never too early to start incorporating eye cream into your daily routine (I started when I was 16, and never looked back.)

Eye creams can do wonders against aging, wrinkles, fine lines, darkness, sagging, puffiness and fatigue. Adding eye cream to your daily regimen will make the world of a difference in a few years (start now, thank me later.) Undoubtedly, the search for your potent eye wonder balm is a daunting one, so I've rounded up a few of my faves right here:

Breakin' Out the Blue

When it comes to eyeshadow, I hate to admit it, but I'm kind of a chicken. Despite the many many, many palettes, compacts and containers overflowing my dresser (a.k.a. my beauty bar), I tend to reach for the same old shades day after day. I rarely, rarely veer far from smudging some combination of subtle gold, champagne or taupe on my lids, no matter the occasion. If I'm feeling crazy, I might throw in a deeper copper or mossy brown in the mix, but I never stray from the neutral tones.

Recently, a lovely publicist friend sent over a stash of MAC cosmetics to my apartment; a wide assortment of highly pigmented products. I quickly distributed them out to my more daring sisters and friends, knowing that I wouldn't make use of them anyway.

On a whim, I kept one bold blue shadow to myself, a sample called Night Dream (it might still be in production or discontinued, because I can't find it online or in stores anywhere). Believe it or not, this shadow is my new favorite, as it artfully creates a sexy, smoky eye, without being too smoky. (Black and charcoal eye shadow kinda scare me, too.) It's just intense enough (for evening or day time), without screaming all-out sexpot.

Fabulous!

Beauty Junkie

I know I raved about LORAC's Front of the Line eyeliner not too long ago, (and I still stand by it), but I HAD to share my latest 'ultimate eyeliner' discovery.

I snapped up K-Palette's 24 Hour Eyeliner from a Japanese cosmetics store over the weekend on a whim, and I am SO. GLAD. I. DID.

It's inky black and ultra thin and, best of all, it doesn't budge an inch. My eyeliner looks exactly the same at the end of the day as it did when I first applied it in the morning. Truly, truly impressive for just $16.

LORAC Front of the Line Waterproof Eyeliner

For me, black eyeliner is a very serious can't-leave-home-without-it-on matter. Despite the fact that TotalBeauty.com just named this liner as one of their worst picks (ouch!), I have to confess this is one of my fave new products of all time.

It glides on easily and doesn't budge all day. Lines your peepers to perfection. $20 at www.sephora.com.
