NYDJ Spring Preview

Quite commonly known as 'mom jeans', the brand Not Your Daughter's Jeans (NYDJ) proved me all wrong at their press preview yesterday morning. Admittedly, I had never actually taken a good look at the line; and yes, there are certainly a number of styles that I'd never wear (at least not in the foreseeable next decade or so), but I was intrigued by the incredible fit technology behind the brand. NYDJ jeans totally suck you in, lift the behind and typically even allow you to go down a size. Sounded good to me!

I took particular interest in the trendy spring colored skinnies, and had a blast with the other bloggers in the crowd as we tried on tons of styles on that we'd never probably be so bold to actually buy in real life. At one point, three of us (Romy Schorr of RomyRaves and Marie Denee of The Curvy Fashionista) walked out wearing the exact same pair of pants--a light-colored snakeskin ankle jean--and posed for photos, showing how one pair of pants looks on different body types.

In the end, I played it safe with a dark wash skinny jean (and hurrah! I went down TWO sizes!) that I knew I'd get a lot of use out of; but a pretty coral-hued jean on the rack certainly peaked my interest. And with all of that magical fit technology, that might be the wisest way to road test colored skinny jeans this season, yes?
