Beauty Junkie: Sunscreen

Sorry for the delay in updates--I've been traveling! I packed in some fun adventures abroad in China and Japan these last few weeks, and went pretty minimalistic on the beauty routine. Shocker, right? I wore my hair straight (its natural texture, since I was without a hair appliance of any kind the whole time) and got creative with hair clips, twists and braids. The weather was unpredictable--either humid and ridiculously hot, or rainy and unpleasant, so my normal makeup routine pretty much went out the window, as well.

The one thing I never left the hotel without? SPF! I'm fanatical about sunscreen all year-round, but now that summer is here, I've amped it up even more by wearing full coverage SPF underneath my makeup (which also packs in UV protection in its formula as well.) Do yourself a favor and wear sunblock to prevent against anti-aging, skin cancer, fine lines, hyper pigmentation and all kinds of other unsightly skin ailments later in life.

My fave picks for sunscreen? Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer Sunblock, Kate Somerville Protect SPF 55 Sunscreen and Jan Marini Sunscreen with SPF 30 are all fabulously lightweight, pleasant, non-greasy options that pack in protection.
