Safi Fragrance

It's not everyday you see celebrities grooving to the beats of live African drummers outside of Melrose Avenue's Fred Segal; but the scene was exactly that a few weeks ago at a celebratory cocktail party held in honor of the launch of Safi fragrance by Nyakio Grieco.

Grieco (who ushered in her first bath and body collection six years ago) just launched her latest signature fragrance endeavor, an homage to her family and African heritage, this spring at Fred Segal. “Ron Robinson is the grandfather of my dreams!” Grieco said of the retail mogul who ushered her line at Fred Segal's beauty apothecary, APOTHIA. “He opened up his arms and believed in what I wanted to do.”

Working with perfumer Sarah Horowitz, Grieco spent two years blending and developing her gently seductive scent, a combination of warm notes including lychee (a nod to her fondness for lychee martinis), pineapple, neroli, fresh bamboo and freesia.

If you're looking for a new summer scent or just a uniquely fabulous fragrance to add to your eclectic mix, I highly recommend this one. It is truly unlike anything else out there...
