The Perfect L.A. Staycation: The Orlando Hotel on West Third Street

Living in Los Angeles, I have to admit I often feel the need to get away and rejuvenate from the hustle and bustle of city living, but hopping on a flight isn’t always the easiest option when it comes to timing, scheduling and planning in advance.

So, what’s a busy girl to do?

Take a staycation right in my own town, of course! I recently enjoyed a fantastic weekend ‘away’ at The Orlando Hotel on trendy West Third Street, and was wonderfully reminded of all the simple pleasures of this charming boutique hotel, which just so happens to be nestled in one of the greatest neighborhoods in the City of Angels.

The Orlando offers an intimate and personalized stay complete with an incredibly friendly staff to greet you, plush beds and cozy surroundings to comfort you, and everything else (yes, really!) you could possibly desire just a few steps away.

There’s a quaint rooftop pool with cabanas and lounge chairs to soak up the sunshine, plus a full fitness center to keep your fitness goals on track during your stay, as well.  Each room boasts fabulous C.O Bigelow toiletries, and a few select hallways even come equipped with adorable old-fashioned telephones to call the front desk with requests of your every desire.

As for the location…well, it simply can’t be beat! Staying at The Orlando eliminates the need to worry about driving and parking entirely—after all, everything you need is absolutely within walking distance.

For starters, the adjoining Churchill restaurant serves up delicious and savory bites paired with tasty libations, which makes room service or dining in a true treat every time. 

Did someone say poolside room service? The Churchill serves up tasty dishes like this breakfast burrito. 

Other neighborhood highlights include Spoke & Weal salon (my go-to spot for blowouts and killer haircuts!), Murad Skincare (I swear by their line 24/7) Bedhead Pajamas, Sweet E's Bakery and plenty other fabulous eateries and beloved boutiques sprinkled up and down West Third Street to enjoy.
