L.A. Outerwear: All You Really Need is a Moto Jacket

So I have this theory, that in L.A., all you really ever need is a cool, edgy moto jacket. Our weather never gets bitterly cold, so when you need a little warmth, a chic, sleek moto jacket is the perfect topper. It looks great with dresses (the standard L.A. party fashion formula), with jeans, with, well, everything. In fact, I even did this little piece for E! Online about the must-have piece...

Mine, in particular, happens to be from Armani Exchange (Sidenote: A/X remains my secret spot for finding cute coats that are trendy yet subdued and still very affordable.) from at least two years ago, and I get about 500 compliments on it, at any given time.

It's super lightweight, stretchy and has a subtle shimmer to the fabrication. I wear it constantly, all year round, and worry about the day it either falls apart or gets lost. For example, here's how much I love this jacket....

Paired with sassy leopard print for a night out!

Worn casually with shorts and a tank at the park...

The finishing touch to a satin peplum dress and sparkly jewels for a birthday downtown...
Worn with jeans and a tee shirt (and a Chanel bag) at a Lakers game

As you can see, it's a staple in my wardrobe. And for that reason, I'm always looking for back-up moto jackets, just in case, and I recently discovered a new one that I actually really like.

Also from A/X, it's longer in length and has a super chic funnel neck that can be droopy or drapey, depending on your taste.  I'm definitely yanking that skinny belt off and wearing it open most likely.  No, it's not a replacement for my beloved leather jacket, but it's a nice alternative to when that thing needs a break. And thanks to their current outerwear promotion, I got a nice 30% off discount too.

Do you have a fave moto jacket?
