The Domino Effect...plus Gwen Stefani!

Last night, I popped over to design queen Kelly Wearstler's spectacular Beverly Hills home for a soiree celebrating Domino Magazine's new book. It was awfully balmy out, and several Angelenos donned their breeziest sundresses and took to the poolside party to toast the title's latest venture. I'm a huge Domino fan (Deb Needleman, editor-in-chief, spoke to my journalism class at Columbia before the mag launched, and I was smitten from the start), so I was particularly excited to honor the extension of the brand three years later.
(Sidenote: would you believe Deb actually remembered me ("the assertive student with a heck of a lot experience who came up to talk to me afterwards!!") from the program? Lol. I've officially come full circle now.)

VIPs like Molly Sims, Elizabeth Banks, Arianna Huffington, Ione Skye and Ben Lee showed up, but it wasn't until I caught sight of Gwen Stefani ascending the stairs that I got a tad bit starstruck (doesn't happen often, to be honest.)

Gwen made a graceful, quiet entrance (armed with two gal pals, one of whom was her sis-in-law) and I just so happened to be the very first person to greet her at the party. Let me just say she is a total sweetheart! We chatted about her Marc Jacobs dress (black. exposed zipper. fierce.) and she graciously praised Deb, Domino and Kelly Wearstler's work. FYI, Gwen's stylish office appears in the October issue of the mag.

Naturally, I took some pics to share:
